Calamansi (Philippine lime)

Calamansi, calamondin or Philippine lime, is a small citrus hybrid native to the Philippines.

 

Used in Filipino cuisine this sour little citrus is another favourite of ours. Try the juice diluted in water with or without sugar, hot or cold, or in soda water. Very refreshing and a great, unique flavour. Or squeeze some in the salad or on a ripe papaya. Used to treat colds and sore throats. Good disinfectant.
